Private label on bags is mostly four decisions: the label inside (woven or printed), the hangtag outside, the wording you are legally required to carry in your market, and the packing the bag arrives in. None of them normally raises the minimum — but each adds lead time if artwork is late.
Labels: woven or printed
- Woven labels read as more premium and survive handling well. They need artwork that works at small size — fine detail disappears in the weave.
- Printed labels are cheaper, handle detail and gradients better, and are the usual choice for care and composition text.
- Placement matters more than buyers expect: centred inside the back panel, at the lining seam, or under the top edge all photograph differently.
- Many programs use both — a woven brand label and a printed care label on the same bag.
Hangtags
The hangtag is where your story, your price and your barcode live. Decide early whether you need a barcode or a QR code on it, because that changes the artwork and sometimes the size. String, pin or plastic loop attachment is a small decision that changes how it looks on the shelf — say which one you want rather than leaving it to the factory.
Wording you may be required to carry
Requirements differ by market, and your importer or customs broker is the authority for yours — not your factory. What a factory can do is print exactly what you specify. Send the fibre composition wording, country of origin, care symbols and any regulatory text you need as final copy, and check it before the label is produced: a wrong care label means re-labelling the whole shipment.
Packing is part of the product
- Individual polybag — the default, and the one most marketplaces expect.
- Tissue or a dust bag — for a premium retail presentation.
- Your own retail box or sleeve — send the specification or supply the packaging.
- Bulk packing without individual bags — cheaper, but the bag arrives on the shelf needing handling.
- Carton marking — tell the factory what your warehouse needs printed on the outside.
What this does to your timeline
Labels and hangtags are produced alongside the bags, so they rarely extend production on their own. What extends it is late artwork and unapproved wording. Send label artwork with the order, not after the sample, and the label step disappears into the 15–30 days production window.
The full list of what we set per order is on the custom and private label page; canvas printing specifics are on the custom canvas page.
Private label at Lovy does not raise the minimum: it stays 100 pcs / style, with labels and hangtags quoted as line items.
FAQ
Does private label increase the MOQ?+
Not at Lovy. The minimum stays 100 pieces per style; labels and hangtags are separate line items in the quotation.
Can I supply my own labels and hangtags?+
Yes — send them to the factory before production, or have us produce them from your artwork.
Will my design be sold to someone else?+
Designs you bring are yours. For catalogue styles adapted for you, ask about exclusivity explicitly and get the answer in writing.
