Everything Buyers Ask Us
66 questions, grouped by topic — ordering and MOQ, each collection, custom and private label, and working with us. Short answers first; anything missing, ask us directly.
Ordering, MOQ & Lead Time
The questions that decide whether we are a fit at all.
What is the minimum order quantity for Lovy bags?+
100 pieces per style, for every style in our catalogue. Color splits within a style are confirmed at quotation.
How long does production take?+
15–30 days after order confirmation for standard bulk orders. Order confirmation is the point where you have approved the sample and the deposit is in — the two happen together, which is why you will also see it described as sample approval on other pages. Sampling itself sits before that clock and is quoted separately, so leave room for it in your season calendar. Shipping time depends on destination and method and is quoted separately.
Can I order my own design or change your styles?+
Yes, and the minimum differs by route: a catalogue style you customise starts at 100 pieces, while a design of your own runs 100–2,000 pieces depending on how complex it is to make. We adjust colors, sizes, straps and labels on any catalogue style, and produce your own designs from a sample or drawing. Send the details with your inquiry.
Do you make samples before bulk production?+
Yes. Samples are confirmed before bulk production. Sample cost and timing depend on the style and are quoted with your inquiry.
What should I include in an inquiry?+
Style numbers or photos, colors, quantity per style, logo or label requirements, packing needs and destination country. If you're not sure yet, start with the collection and target quantity.
Do you provide after-sales support?+
Yes. If anything is wrong with an order, contact us within 7 days of receiving the goods and we will handle it — the same person who quoted you stays on it.
Can we mix different styles in one order?+
Yes. The 100-piece minimum is per style, not per order, so a first order is usually two or three styles at 100 pieces each.
Do you make clutches, baguette bags or backpacks?+
Not in the published catalogue. The shapes we publish are totes, shoulder bags, crossbody bags, bucket bags and drawstring bags — that is where our handwork and our patterns are. A clutch, a baguette bag or a backpack is possible, but it goes through custom development from your sketch or reference sample rather than off this page, so it carries its own minimum and its own sampling round. Tell us the shape and the channel and we will say plainly whether it is a good fit for a hand-worked bag — and what shoppers actually pay more for is worth reading before you commit a shape to development.
Are all styles always available?+
Everything on this page is made to order rather than held in stock, so availability is about production capacity and timing rather than shelf stock. Confirm your delivery month with the inquiry.
Can you produce a style that isn't on this site?+
Yes. Send a photo, drawing or sample and we will quote it as a custom style, with a counter sample before bulk. A style of your own is not the 100-piece minimum the catalogue runs on: it is 100 to 2,000 pieces depending on how complex it is to make, with bulk 15–30 days after you approve the sample.
Do you publish prices?+
Prices are quoted per inquiry, because they depend on style, quantity, colorway split, labels and packing. We reply within 24 hours on business days with a full quotation.
Do you make handbags, purses or ladies bags — are those different things?+
They are the same category under different names, and which name you use mostly depends on your market. Handbag and ladies handbag are the usual terms in the UK, India and the Middle East; purse and purses mean the same bag in the United States, while in British English a purse is a wallet — which is a genuine source of confusion on a spec sheet, so name the shape rather than the category when you write to us. We say women's bags across this site because it covers everything we make. The shapes themselves are totes, shoulder bags, crossbody bags, bucket bags, handbags, drawstring bags and phone pouches, and all styles are quoted the same way.
What is the lowest quantity you will make — is there a low-MOQ or no-minimum option?+
100 pieces per style, and we would rather say so plainly than advertise a low MOQ we do not have: there is no no-minimum tier, and no small-quantity wholesale price break below 100. What the minimum does allow is a genuinely small first order — three styles at 100 pieces each is 300 bags, not a container, which is the point of it. A small MOQ like this is the point of the range. A sample order before bulk is a separate thing and is normal: sample cost and timing are quoted with your inquiry, and bulk runs 15–30 days after you approve it.
What size tote bag should I order, and how do I read the dimensions?+
Dimensions on every style page are width × depth × height in centimetres. As a rule a tote under 30 cm wide reads as a day bag and over 38 cm as a beach or shopping size. Tell us what has to fit and we will point you at the styles that hold it.
Which shapes do you sell wholesale?+
Tote bags, shoulder bags and hobos, crossbody bags wholesale, bucket bags wholesale, phone pouch wholesale and handbags wholesale — all from 100 pieces per style. Beach bags wholesale and summer bags wholesale are the straw and openwork crochet shapes; gift bags wholesale and boutique bags are usually the blank or printed canvas totes.
Are you a bag supplier, a handbag manufacturer, or a wholesaler?+
We are the manufacturer and wholesaler for our own womens handbags: design, crochet and knitting handwork, canvas printing, finishing and packing happen in our workshop in Yangjiang, and orders ship from us rather than through an agent.
Crochet & Knitted Bags
Hand-crocheted and knitted shoulder bags, totes, bucket bags and mini crossbody styles in cotton and cotton-poly yarn. Openwork, tassel, floral and embroidered designs.
Are these bags crocheted by hand or knitted by machine?+
Both techniques are used, depending on the style. Openwork, flower, daisy and tassel styles are crocheted by hand on cotton or cotton-poly yarn; denser mesh and rib styles are knitted. The technique for a specific style is confirmed in writing with your quotation, together with yarn composition and lining, so what you approve on the sample is what runs in bulk.
Which crochet styles fit which sales channel?+
Match the shape to how your customer shops. Large openwork totes and shoulder bags (49 × 2 × 47 cm at the top of the range) work as summer statement pieces for boutiques and resort retail; mini crossbody bags and small handbag shapes from 80 g are the easiest to ship and photograph for online stores; embroidered and patch styles suit gift and concept-store programs. Tell us your channel with the inquiry and we will suggest a style mix and quantity split. For a summer range specifically, the beach and resort bags page shows which crochet shapes sit alongside the woven straw styles.
What is the minimum order for one crochet style?+
100 pieces per style. Within those 100 pieces you can usually split colorways — the exact split is confirmed at quotation, because it depends on the yarn colors a style uses.
Can you crochet a bag from our own design?+
Yes. Send a photo, sketch or a physical sample and we will make a counter sample for approval before bulk. Handwork styles need the sample step, so plan for it in your season calendar. A design of your own runs 100–2,000 pieces depending on how complex it is to crochet, and bulk takes 15–30 days after approval — we tell you the number when we see the design.
How long does a crochet order take?+
Bulk production is 15–30 days after order and sample confirmation. Handwork capacity is booked per order, so confirm earlier for peak spring and summer deliveries.
How heavy are crochet bags for shipping?+
The styles on this page weigh 80–600 g each, which normally keeps both sea and air freight economical for a first order. Exact carton dimensions and gross weight are quoted with your order.
Do you make granny square bags?+
Yes. The floral crochet styles are built from squares crocheted separately and then joined, which is what granny square describes. Square size, motif and colour placement are set on your order.
Is an openwork crochet bag the same as a mesh bag or a net bag?+
Buyers use all three names for the same thing. On this site the open-stitch styles are listed as openwork — if you are searching for a mesh bag or a net bag, these are the styles you mean.
Do you make hobo bags?+
The soft, unstructured shoulder shapes are what most buyers call a hobo. They are listed here as shoulder bags because that is how the shape is specified in production.
Are crochet bags durable enough to sell?+
Handwork is not the weak point — the joins and the strap fixing are. Both are checked on the counter sample before bulk, which is the stage to pull on the handle and load the bag. Cotton yarn softens with use; cotton-poly holds its shape longer under daily carry.
Straw & Woven Beach Bags
Woven straw totes, bucket bags, chain-strap shoulder bags and phone pouches, finished with polyester or PU trims for boutiques and beach retail.
What kind of straw are these bags made from?+
PP (polypropylene) straw or paper-rope straw, depending on the style — not natural raffia. PP straw holds its shape and color and copes better with damp beach use; paper-rope straw has a softer, more matte look closer to natural fibre. We confirm which one a style uses at quotation, and we can quote the same shape in the other material if you prefer it.
Are woven straw bags sturdy enough for retail and shipping?+
The straw body is combined with polyester or PU parts where the load sits — handles, straps and, on most styles, a lining. That is what carries the weight rather than the weave itself. Bags on this page weigh 60–740 g, and we recommend approving a sample of the exact style you plan to sell so you can test handle attachment and lining yourself before bulk.
What is the minimum order quantity for straw bags?+
100 pieces per style. Straw bags are seasonal, so most buyers start with two or three shapes at 100 pieces each rather than a deep buy on one.
Can we get straw bags in our own colors?+
Yes, within what the material allows: PP straw is available in a range of dyed colors, and trims, linings and straps are matched to your palette. Send a color reference with your inquiry and we will confirm what is achievable per style.
When should we order for the summer season?+
Work back from your on-shelf date: 15–30 days production plus sampling and shipping. Sea freight to Europe or North America usually means placing bulk orders in winter for a spring launch.
Can you add our logo to a straw bag?+
Yes — usually as a woven or printed label on the lining or a hangtag, since the straw surface itself is not suitable for printing. Send your logo file with the inquiry and we will confirm the placement per style.
Are you building a beach or resort range rather than buying by material?+
Then start from the use case instead of the fibre. The beach and resort bags page puts these woven styles next to the openwork crochet shapes that work in the same range, and covers what a bag has to survive at a beach — wet, sand, load and sun — plus the two different beach customers you are buying for. Come back to this page when you already know you want woven straw and need the material detail.
Is this paper straw or polyester straw?+
Both are in production. What we call woven straw is either PP straw — polypropylene, a polyester-family fibre — or paper-rope straw. PP holds shape and colour and copes with damp; paper rope is softer and closer to natural fibre in look. Neither is natural raffia, and the type for each style is confirmed at quotation.
How to clean a straw bag?+
PP straw takes a damp cloth and air drying. Paper-rope straw should be kept dry and brushed instead. Neither goes in a machine. We can supply this wording for your care label.
Canvas Bags
Cotton canvas totes and shoulder bags in striped, leopard and floral designs, plus blank and custom-printed canvas bags for private label programs.
What canvas weight do you use for tote bags?+
It depends on the style, and we state it per style rather than promising one number for the collection. The custom program includes a 100% cotton canvas and a 12 oz laminated canvas; fashion styles use cotton or cotton-blend canvas with polyester linings. The exact fabric of the style you choose is written into the quotation and confirmed on the sample.
Can you print our logo or artwork on canvas bags?+
Yes — canvas printing is done in our own workshop, on blank bags or on a style adapted for you. Send vector artwork (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) with your print colors, and tell us the placement and print size. We confirm what the method can hold before sampling, then print the sample for your approval. Full details are on the custom canvas tote bag page.
What is the MOQ for custom printed canvas bags?+
100 pieces per style and per print design. Extra print colors or a second placement are quoted as separate line items, not as a higher minimum.
Do you sell blank canvas bags without printing?+
Yes. Blank cotton canvas totes are made to order in your size and canvas weight, which is what most buyers use for retail packaging or their own print run.
What artwork do you need for printing?+
Vector files with fonts outlined, plus your color references. If you only have a raster image, send the largest version you have and we will tell you whether it can be printed at your size.
How long does a printed canvas order take?+
15–30 days for bulk after you approve the printed sample. Artwork and sample approval sit before that, so allow extra time for the first order of a new design.
Do you supply wholesale tote bags to trade buyers?+
Yes — every canvas tote here is a wholesale order from 100 pieces per style, sold to shops, brands and gift programs rather than to consumers. Blank, or printed with your artwork.
Custom & Private Label
Your colors, sizes, labels and packing.
What is the minimum for a private label order?+
100 pieces per style, and 100 pieces per print design if you print your own artwork on canvas. The minimum is not raised for adding your label — labels and hangtags are quoted as line items. Splitting colorways inside those 100 pieces is usually possible and is confirmed at quotation.
Can you work from our tech pack, or do you need a sample?+
Either. A tech pack with dimensions, material, color references and label placement is enough to quote and to make a counter sample. A physical sample is the most reliable input for handwork styles, because stitch density and shape are easier to match from the object than from a drawing.
Do you charge for samples?+
Sample cost and timing depend on the style and how much is changed; both are quoted with your inquiry. Bulk production starts after you approve the sample.
Can you add a zip closure, an adjustable strap or a detachable strap?+
Yes — closure, strap and lining are all specified per order rather than fixed per style. A bag can go out with zip closure, a magnetic snap, a drawstring or open; the strap can be adjustable, detachable, or both, in the same fabric or in webbing, leather-look PU or chain. Buyers usually search this as a canvas tote bag with zipper, which is worth saying plainly: it is a construction option on the style you already picked, not a separate style to go looking for. We do not list these on the catalogue pages because they are set at sample stage, and publishing one configuration per style would tell you the wrong thing. Send the brief with the style number and we will confirm what each construction does to the price and the sampling round.
Can we use our own labels and hangtags?+
Yes — you can supply them, or we can produce them to your artwork. Tell us which with the brief.
Will you produce a design exclusively for us?+
Designs you bring to us are yours. For catalogue styles we adapt, the exclusivity question is answered per program — raise it in the inquiry and we will tell you what is possible.
How long does the whole first order take?+
Quotation within 24 hours on business days, then sampling, then 15–30 days of bulk production after you approve the sample. Shipping time depends on destination and method.
Is this OEM or ODM — and can bags be personalized per customer?+
Both. OEM means you send the design and we produce it; ODM means you start from a style we already make and change the parts you need. Personalized runs — one artwork per batch — work the same way, and the minimum is still 100 pieces per style.
What is the MOQ for printed canvas bags?+
100 pieces per style and per print design. Two designs on the same bag body means two lots of 100.
Do you supply blank canvas bags without print?+
Yes. Blank totes are made to your size and canvas weight — this is what most buyers use for retail packaging or to print themselves.
What if we only have a JPG or PNG logo?+
Send the largest version you have. We will tell you whether it can be printed at your size, or whether the artwork needs to be redrawn as vector first.
Can you match a specific canvas weight?+
Tell us the weight you need — for example 8 oz, 10 oz or 12 oz — and we will quote the same body in it. The catalogue laminated option is 12 oz.
The Workshop & Working With Us
Who we are, what we publish and what we deliberately do not.
Where are your custom bags manufactured?+
All our crochet and fabric bags are handmade in our own Yangjiang workshop. We manage every production stage in-house, from sampling through to final inspection, to maintain consistent quality for OEM and private label orders.
Are you a factory or a trading company?+
A factory. Design, handwork, printing, finishing and packing are our own; the yarn, straw, canvas and hardware are bought in, like any bag maker. What that means for you: specification changes go straight to the people making the bags, and lead time is our own production schedule rather than someone else's queue.
Can you handle custom development for new bag designs?+
Absolutely. Our in-house team works with you to develop new styles based on your sketches, mood boards or reference samples. We will create pre-production samples before bulk manufacture.
What is your typical production lead time for custom orders?+
Lead time depends on order size and custom details. After sample confirmation and deposit, bulk production normally takes 15–30 days. We will share a clear timeline for each project.
Who checks the bags before they ship?+
Our own checking and packing area, on appearance, size, print position and color against the approved sample. Third-party inspection can be arranged if your program requires it.
Can you handle repeat orders of the same style?+
Yes — the approved sample and specification stay on file, which is what keeps a repeat order consistent with the first one.
Who does Lovy produce for?+
Boutiques and concept stores, fashion and accessory brands running private label, online retailers and marketplace sellers, resort and beach retail, and promotional or gift programs. The common thread is small-batch fashion bags: 100 pieces per style is enough to test a season or a channel without committing to a container.
What makes a 2020 company a safe supplier?+
Judge it on what you can check rather than on years. Every style here carries its material, size, weight and colorways from our production sheet; samples are approved before bulk; and a video call through the workshop can be arranged before you place a first order. We would rather be checked than described.
How fast do you reply?+
Our target is within 24 hours on business days. If you write over a Chinese public holiday, the reply comes on the next working day.
Can I order a single sample before a bulk order?+
Yes. Sample cost and timing depend on the style and are quoted with your inquiry.
Do you have a catalogue PDF?+
The site is the catalogue — every style page carries the specification. If you need a PDF for internal circulation, ask and we will put one together for the styles you are interested in.
What happens to the details I send?+
They are used to answer your inquiry and nothing else. See the privacy notice.
